Annotation | Using the Korean 1996 Survey of Family Income and Expenditures, this study attempted to examine the differences in spending patterns between households with a head aged 65 and households with a head aged 75+ in Korea, while controlling for the influence of selected socio-demographic variables. Significant differences in spending patterns between the two age groups were found for expenditures on food at home, food away from home, utilities, clothing, health care, transport or communication, and ceremonial, personal care and miscellaneous. However, the relationship between socio-demographic factors and expenditures by either age group varied. (RH). |
