This article discusses quality of life and the assessment made after someone has experienced a stroke. The World Health Organization's (WHO) International Classification of Impairment, Disability and Handicap (ICIDH)(1980) is used as a framework to view the effects of long-term disability and the factors that affect the quality of life.
