Annotation | The National Service Framework for Older People (NSF) was launched two years ago and is an essential component of the NHS Plan. It set, for the first time, national standards for better, fairer and more integrated health and social care services for older people. The purpose of this report is to highlight the progress made by the NHS and social care - with support from the Department of Health - in these two years. Brief examples of good practice are mentioned and progress on specific conditions - strokes, falls and mental health issues. It also signals the challenges and activities for the years ahead.
