Annotation | A Consensus Conference held in London in April 1999 guided the development of this training guide, part of a project funded by the European Commission (EC). The training is based on interviews and group discussions with staff and relatives in Ireland, Spain, Sweden and the UK. Four main themes are covered: sharing information; sharing the care; developing supportive relationships; and making it work. Despite differences between countries in terms of funding and models of care for people with dementia, the issues raised in discussion and dealt with appear to be applicable across Europe. (RH). |
