AnnotationThe process by which older people with disabilities are forced to relocate from their homes to congregate living facilities - in this instance sheltered housing or nursing homes - is of critical societal importance. This article is a descriptive exploration of the lived experiences of 41 Americans aged 60+ who made such a transition. The social work profession serves the most vulnerable members of society. This research should help social workers to better understand this vulnerable population, and the personal, professional and policy implications that stem from such research. (RH).
