Annotation | These Awards have combined three separate schemes for the first time as one award scheme. They are now open to workers and organisations from across the public, voluntary sectors and independent social care providers in England. Awards are presented for 'Best Practice' across thirteen categories. One of the categories, Older People Award, "recognises achievement in a range of services that positively enhance the dignity, independence and quality of life of older people, in line with the National Service Framework for Older People." Nominations are made by workers themselves or by service users on their behalf. The winners of each category receive a cash prize. (KJ). |
