Journal title | BOLD, vol 13, no 2, February 2003 |
Publisher | International Institute on Ageing (United Nations - Malta), February 2003 |
Pages | pp 3-11 |

Annotation | The author continues the discussion which began in the previous issue of BOLD. In this article, relevant aspects of the Indian Government's main policy statements on older people since 1982 are examined in the context of research guidelines in United Nations (UN) documentation: the International Plan of Action on Ageing (IPAA) (also the Revised Plan - RIPAA), and the Research Agenda on Ageing for the 21st Century (RAATC). It is hoped that the Government of India will seize the opportunity of UN assistance, particularly for initiating policy-oriented, data-based long-term research projects on ageing. (RH). |
