Annotation | The Draft London Plan proposes that all new housing is built to Lifetime Home Standards, a set of 16 features that can be universally applied to housing design at minimal cost, to provide accessible and adaptable housing in any setting. The London boroughs have also set density requirements in their local plans, stating how many habitable rooms can be built per hectare of land. This document aims to demonstrate that by integrating Lifetime Homes standards into higher density developments, it is possible to create sustainable, inclusive neighbourhoods and enough affordable homes for everyone. It has been produced by Habinteg Housing Association in collaboration with GML Architects, backed by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and the Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF). (RH). |
