AnnotationThis draft strategy follows consultation with older people at an event for over 50s, during which two focus groups involving older people were held on "Learning in Later Life". 18 people also completed questionnaires about their learning needs. Five key challenges are identified and outlined: to create learning opportunities which older people want; to promote wider participation by older adults in all forms of learning; to understand better the learning needs of those traditionally absent from learning; to enable access to learning by overcoming the barriers to learning older people face; and to improve data about the numbers of older learners in provision in Sheffield.
