AnnotationA statistical analysis primarily of the 1995 national American Housing Survey (AHS) with supplementary analysis of the 1978 AHS indicates that some 14% of older Americans had a "housing-related disability". The prevalence of modifications to dwellings nearly doubled between 1978 and 1995. However, while overall unmet need declined, some needs were less likely to be met in 1995 than in 1978. (RH).
