Annotation | Residential care for older people provided by religious-based bodies - including the Catholic Church, the Church of Scotland, Jewish Care, and Methodist Homes - is significant. The author describes his research into how Catholic residential homes are facing up to the harsh economic climate throughout residential care for older people. The research included in-depth telephone interviews with 238 members of the Conference of Religious and others; interviews with 200 religious superiors; two focus groups of 20 lay people; and interviews with 3 bishops. The author's findings are published as "The Catholic Church and residential care for older people", by Caritas Social Action and Conference of Religious. (RH). |
