AnnotationThe authors discuss how their original dance session with people with dementia have combined exercise with creative expression. Indeed, increasing physical activity for older people has been recognised within the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF). The authors felt that their project challenged the stereotypes of ageing and disease (Standard 1), as well as promoting engagement and activity (Standards 7 and 8) in a person-centred way (Standard 2), and fitting in with a falls strategy (Standard 6).
