Annotation | One of the key aims of specialist palliative care is to empower general healthcare workers to care for dying patients. The hospice movement has challenged the prevailing death-dying attitude of our healthcare system, and championed a positive attitude to caring for vulnerable and dying patients. To disseminate a model of care, a greater focus needs to be given to the educational issues relating to diagnosing dying. (RH). |
