Annotation | The use of stages to describe the progress of dementia is often helpful when identifying the support needs of people with the condition. Social workers and health practitioners must consider the needs of each individual with dementia, in terms of that person's past and present experience, activity and behaviour. Identifying the characteristics of early and later stages of dementia can help carers and services to anticipate changes and to plan responses to the individual's needs. (RH). |
