AnnotationThis Strategy has been developed following extensive use of research evidence and wide ranging consultation. Its aims, objectives and more detailed programmes and projects reflect the findings of the Advisory Group on a Strategy for Older People in Wales report, "When I'm 64 ... and more" (2002). The Strategy will provide a ten year framework for all interests in Wales to plan for an ageing society and improve services to older people. The following themes are covered: valuing older people, including the contribution of older workers to the economy; living longer and healthier lives; and coping with increasing dependency, and the importance of housing, and health and social care services. The Action Plan describes 21 main projects and activities that support the Strategy. The report is in English and Welsh. (KJ/RH).
