AnnotationChapters in this volume grew out of the preparations for the first international conference, "Ageing, Spirituality and Pastoral Care in the Twenty-first Century" held in Canberra, Australia in January 2000. The main invited speakers came from a range of disciplines of gerontology, bringing with them a variety of world views of what it means to be growing older at the beginning of the twenty-first century. Two main themes are covered: ethical, theological and biblical dimensions; and issues of ageing and pastoral care. This volume has been published simultaneously as Journal of Religious Gerontology, vol 12, nos 3/4, 2001. (RH).
