Annotation | Traditionally, older people's services have revolved around medical and personal care, but this is now having to change dramatically. Rather than being just passive recipients of services, older people wish to be involved as active participants in determining the nature of those services. This article illustrates how organisations such as Help the Aged and the Better Government for Older People (BGOP) pilots have been the impetus for a range of projects such as Agewell in Hammersmith and Fulham.
