AnnotationWith the establishment of the importance of regular physical activity in the health of the American population throughout the lifespan, an increasing emphasis has been placed on better understanding the factors influencing physical activity levels. The Women's Cardiovascular Health Network aims to identify in particular environmental, policy and cultural factors, that may influence physical activity among ethnic minority and low income women (mainly aged 20-50 years). This collection of articles has been co-published simultaneously as Women & Health, vol 36, no 2, 2002. The theme of environmental, policy, and cultural factors relating to physical activity is considered variously for women from different ethnic groups and living in rural or urban areas of the US.
