AnnotationThis publication was launched at the "Speaking Up for Our Age" National Conference, at which forums from across the UK came together. It is based on the experience of eight different forums: Leeds Older People's Forum; Vale of Glamorgan Pensioners' Forum; Bury Elders' Forum; Wiltshire and Swindon Users' Network; Action for Pensioners in Bath and North East Somerset; Sutton Seniors' Forum; Manchester Older People's Network; and Fife Elder Forum Executive. Reference is also made to the work of "umbrella" organisations such as the Greater London Forum for the Elderly (GLF). The report emphasises the attributes that these groups bring such as being truly representative, involving older people in improving health, and working in partnership. (RH).
