Food, eating and well-being in dementia care | Author(s) | Claire Biernacki |
Journal title | Journal of Dementia Care, vol 11, no 1, January/February 2003 |
Pages | pp 18-19 |
Keywords | Dementia ; Nutrition ; Food ; Feeding capacity ; Well being. |
Annotation | Food and eating form the basis of well-being for many. Although this does not have to change because a person has dementia, it may change because the dementia interferes with the person's ability to interact successfully with food. In this article, the author urges care staff and other multidisciplinary team members to use person-centred approaches in helping people with dementia to eat. (RH). |
