Annotation | The population of Kerala is ageing more rapidly than other states in India. 75% of the old in Kerala live in villages, most without any adequate means of support or any social security. This article compares older people living at home either alone or with families with those in old age homes. It finds that most people enter old age without a proper understanding of the problems they face during the last years of life. (RH). |
