Annotation | Concern is expressed by Age Concern England (ACE) about the lack of clarity in the guidance on fairer charging policies for home care produced by the Department of Health (DH). ACE suggests that the Department should be setting the standards expected of local authorities when they come to consult on their individual policies. ACE also suggests that practice guidance which covers all aspects of the charging policy should be produced following full consultation. This should incorporate practice guidance produced by the former Association of Metropolitan Authorities (AMA) and Association of County Councils - now the Local Government Association (LGA) - that already exists, and which requires updating.
