AnnotationIt is recognised that services sometimes discriminate against older people and fail to meet their needs. The National Service Framework for Older People (NSF) requires local authorities and health providers to take action to deal with these issues. The Office for Public Management was commissioned to assist with this review (October 2001 to July 2002) of how Haringey Council and the Primary Care Trust (PCT) meet the needs of older people in the local community. The review was intended to find out if older people were treated fairly in comparison to younger people, particularly with regard to health and social services. Recommendations are made accordingly.
