Annotation | The purpose of the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well local people are being served by their social services, and to make a constructive contribution to the further improvement of services provided. It found Dudley to be meeting the needs of some people well, and with some excellent innovative work with older people (such as re-ablement schemes). Examples of good practice described include: a liaison service with local GPs who identify all over 85s within their practice; and a wide range of innovative community support services. Priorities for action identified by the Review include: further promotion of independence and prevention; and developing user and carer participation and empowerment. (RH). |
