Annotation | The author, a retired professor who lives alone, recounts from how he first became aware of having what seemed to be a "progressive attention-deficit disorder". Since being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease (AD), he has pioneered the application of brain-injury rehabilitation concepts to dementia, and presented studies at conferences. He also evaluates himself as having decreased quality of life (QOL). In this article he questions whether it is worthwhile to assess and monitor his QOL, both as a basis for improving it and for making decisions. (RH). |
