Annotation | Stroke is a major cause of disability in adults in the UK, and is the third most common cause of death. This supplement of Age and Ageing is based on papers presented at the Third Sunderland Stroke Meeting held on 4th July 2002. These include: evidence-based stroke rehabilitation; experience and perspective of the patient; cognitive decline in a prospectively studied group of stroke survivors (particularly the over 75s); and ethical and legal considerations of stroke medicine.
