Annotation | Pembrokeshire, previously part of Dyfed, was created in April 1996. The purpose of this Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well local people are being served by their social services. It found that some people in Pembrokeshire are well served, but that prospects for future improvement remain uncertain. The views of users and carers about services are mixed: services for older people - particularly home care and day services - are not able to cater for those with high levels of need. An example of good practice identified in the report is the South Pembrokeshire Hospital redevelopment, to provide a range of services including intermediate and palliative care, acute home care services, and an out-of-hours district nursing service. Priorities for action identified by the review include: focusing on improving frontline practice and targeting services more effectively; raising aspirations to put customers first; and plugging gaps in commissioning. The report is in English and Welsh. (RH). |
