Annotation | Mental health services in Tayside were previously covered by Dundee Healthcare NHS Trust, Perth and Kinross Healthcare NHS Trust, and Angus NHS Trust. Until recently, NHS Tayside was Scotland's highest investor in mental health services, most of which goes on upkeep of traditional psychiatric hospitals. The review thus identifies various problems, including long waiting times, inadequate provision of community care, and staffing problems. Several services are described as being good, including day hospitals, rehabilitation and the alcohol service. (RH). |
