AnnotationBritish Gas commissioned an independent survey by QRS Market Research Ltd of 1,009 over 60s across Great Britain in October 2002. Male and female respondents were asked to discuss their feelings about the onset of winter. This report presents the survey's findings on illness, money, getting out and about, loneliness, security, and the seasons. The overriding finding is that 58% said that they "dread winter". It outlines the British Gas "here to HELP" programme to alleviate such winter problems, which is run in partnership with charities such as Help the Aged. (RH).
