Annotation | This document contains agreed codes of practice for social care workers and employers of social care workers describing the standards of conduct and practice within which they should work. The General Social Care Council (GSCC) began its work on 1 October 2001, and has a duty to develop such codes of practice as part of a contribution to raise standards in social care services. Both sets of codes for social care workers and employers consist of five statements that describe the standards of professional conduct and practice required. The codes are intended to reflect existing good practice and shared standards to which all can aspire. (KJ/RH). |
