Annotation | The health and well-being of older people is the key theme in this issue of the Journal of the Royal Society for the Promotion of Health. A guest editorial prefaces brief articles on topics of current interest. Sally Jacobs comments on a survey from the National Primary Care Research and Development Centre at the University of Manchester on access to medical services for older people in nursing and residential homes. "Healthy diet at post-retirement ages: a life course perspective" is part of an analysis by the National Diet and Nutrition Survey (NDNS) discussed by Maria Maynard. Nutrition and older adults is discussed by Susan Holmes, in the light of a 2001 study from the Malnutrition Advisory Group. Lastly, Graham Aston comments on meals-on-wheels, and ensuring the safety of this essential services. (RH). |
