AnnotationHousebound older people are at high nutrition risk and are hard to reach through traditional, community-based nutrition education efforts. The purpose of this work was to assess home-delivered meal participants' changes in nutrition knowledge, attitude and behaviour after receiving a single-concept, monthly nutrition newsletter that was delivered with their meals. 152 recipients completed a retrospective self-administered survey designed to measure perceived changes. Exposure to the newsletter was significant in affecting a positive change in overall knowledge, attitudes and behaviours. This approach appears to be an effective and inexpensive way of delivering nutrition information to housebound older adults. (KJ/RH).
