Annotation | Effective day care for people with dementia is grounded in effective communication. In the first of two articles on communication in day care settings, the authors describe activities at the Tuesday and Thursday Club (T&T Club) based in Edinburgh, to illustrate the value of non-verbal communication: facial expression and other body language; music and drama; hand massage and smell; use of photographs; and group and individual activities.
