Annotation | Leaders in gerontology often fail to incorporate the growing body of scientific evidence regarding health, ageing and spirituality into their conceptual models to promote successful ageing. The authors of this article identify a missing component to Rowe and Khan's three-factor model of successful ageing, and suggest a fourth factor, positive spirituality. The evidence they present suggests that the addition of spirituality to interventions focused on health promotion has been received positively by older people. (RH). |
