AnnotationThe purpose of the the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well people in Greenwich are being served by their social services. It finds that some people are being served well, and there are promising prospects for improvement. Although the report notes poor access to assessment and care management for older people, the Authority has a good record in helping with hospital discharge and providing a range of intermediate care services for rehabilitation. Examples of good practice include: user involvement in producing information for users with learning disabilities; a carer's information pack; consulting with users of adult day services; and the use of "virtual management teams". Priorities for action identified by the Review include: focusing on customer care; improving all services to the level of the best; and developing a Human Resources (HR) strategy to help plan for change.
