| Annotation | Liaison psychiatry refers to the interface between psychiatry and general hospital patients and specialists, and involves psychiatrists' intervention in the care of medically ill patients who also present with psychiatric symptoms because of their illness. This reviews point to relevant articles on the clinical workload and on the specialised skills required, in affecting referrals, detection and treatment of older patients' psychiatric problems in general hospital wards.
