Annotation | This study covered 1092 respondents of the 1989 wave of the Americans' Changing Lives (ACL) panel study. It presents an analysis of activity theory of ageing, examines how activity affects psychological well-being, and explores alternative concepts of activity which might be used in future strategies. It was found that many activities were not significantly related to some measures of well-being. Overall, these findings imply that psychological well-being is influenced by activities representing a mobile lifestyle that includes a sense of control. (KJ/RH). |
