Annotation | Publication of the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF) in 2001 has set new national standards for health and social care. Nurses therefore have a real opportunity to take a lead in developing new services and improving older people's quality of life. This article outlines four of the NSF's guiding principles: person-centred care; whole system working; timely access to specialist care; and promoting health and active life. (RH). |
