Annotation | The mother of the author of this article was diagnosed with multi-infarct dementia some years ago and moved more recently into a care home. Since which time, the author has been exploring how gardens might be used in a therapeutic way to help people with dementia. The author presents his findings about how older people with dementia can use and benefit from gardens and open spaces, whether these are sited at day care centres, care homes or in their own homes.
