Annotation | Participants in this US study comprise a subgroup of 239 people aged 45-77 who had taken part in the Adult Longitudinal Panel 1996. The study examined the relationships between work-role attachment variables (job involvement, affective organisational commitment, and career identification) and intention to retire. Results indicated that organisational commitment is negatively related to retirement intent. Contrary to expectation, job involvement displayed a positive relationship and career identification had no relationship to retirement intent. (RH). |
