AnnotationThe purpose of the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well local people in Buckinghamshire (excluding Milton Keynes) are being served by their social services. Some people are served well, but the experience of service users is mixed: those who receive services are often positive, while others have delays in assessment and receiving the services to meet their needs. Examples of good practice include: a system for distribution of information by designated "Green Box" holders; interpretation and translation service for minority ethnic people; a contract with Heritage Care for transfer of residential and community care centres; and inspection of day services. Priorities for action for delivery of services include: achieving consistency in meeting the needs of services users throughout the Authority; building on strategic "partnership arrangements" and progress with joint working; and developing a commissioning strategy to include all elements of the commissioning process.
