AnnotationThe purpose of the Joint Review is to provide an objective assessment of how well local people in Swindon are being served by their social services. Users and carers who responded to the questionnaire survey do not rate services highly. Meetings with user and carer groups gave more mixed responses: some services and staff are valued highly, but staff shortages affect the quality of services. The report notes some good examples of user and carer involvement: development of user focused quality standards for older people with mental health problems; and evaluation of Community Rehabilitation Services. Priorities for action recommended by the Review include having overall coherence and sustainability for adults' services. (RH).
