Annotation | The Nurses (Scotland) Act 1951 has been repealed by the Regulation of Care (Scotland) 2001. From April 2002, regulation of nurse agencies is transferred to the Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care. The National Care Standards Committee (NCSC) has developed these standards with the help of a number of working groups including both users and service providers. The standards describe what each individual can expect from the service provider, focusing on the quality of life, and are based on the principles of dignity, privacy, choice, safety, realising potential, and equality and diversity.
