Annotation | If we can better understand why people kill themselves, it should be possible to reduce suicide rates. The main aim of this article is to consider whether any factors associated with higher rates of suicide are amenable to preventive interventions. The main conclusion is that most people who kill themselves are suffering from a depressive disorder, but which interacts with other factors. (RH). |
