AnnotationThe current generation of British older people was brought up within a much more religious society than today's younger generations; yet little is known about the belief systems they hold. This research explores the significance of spiritual belief for the well-being of a sample of older bereaved spouses from a Christian background. The study indicates that discussion of spiritual beliefs did not come easily to most of the sample. However, data obtained after further visits and discussion with the participants did demonstrate an association between beliefs and experience of well-being. (RH).
