Annotation | The results of this French study demonstrate that acute hospital admissions are frequent in patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD), resulting in considerable cost implications. In addition to medical reasons, caregiver burnout appears to be a considerable factor. Interventions that support patients and their carers to manage their loss of activities of daily living (ADLs) may be a practical approach to reducing the need for acute hospital admissions. (RH). |
