Annotation | IPPR has undertaken a re-evaluation of pensions and long-term care policy in the UK. The three papers presented in this volume were commissioned by IPPR and have formed an analytical core to its research project, "A new contract for retirement". John Hawksworth examines the costs and benefits of different public pensions regimes, and offers a macro treatment of UK pensions policies for the next 50 years. Jane Falkingham, Katherine Rake and Will Paxton have analysed the same set of pension options, but from the perspectives of those who would be affected. Ruth Hancock, Adelina Comas-Herrera and Linda Pickard have modelled the public and private macro costs of long-term care under a range of different scenarios and policy options. (RH). |
