AnnotationThe chart focuses on the population aged 60 years or older, and other demographic features of each country's population: life expectancy at age 60, percentage of women in the older population, percentage of older persons currently married, the statutory retirement age, and percentage of older people in the labour force. This chart has been produced as part of the Second World Assembly on Ageing convention to be held in 2002. It will focus on an overall review of the outcome of the first World Assembly on Ageing in 1982, and adoption of an international strategy for action on ageing. (RH/KJ).
