Annotation | Reducing falls amongst older people in the UK has been a government target for at least a decade. It now features as part of the National Service Framework for Older People (NSF). In 2001, the authors reviewed a range of UK and overseas studies aimed at reducing falls. This article is based on their report, "International review of interventions in falls among older people" published by the Department of Trade and Industry in November 2001. It forms part of the DTI's campaign to reduce falls in older people, "Avoiding slips, trips and broken hips", which began in 1999. (RH). |
