AnnotationTrafford is one of ten metropolitan districts formed in 1974 in the Greater Manchester area. The purpose of the joint review is to assess how well local people are being served by their social services. Only some people's needs are met well: while services for children are markedly better, services for users and carers are variable, with difficulties caused by organisational constraints. Priorities for action identified include: strengthened "front of house" services; outcomes focus for care management; supporting carers; and the need for a radical overhaul in services for older people.
